The Ageless Promise

The group’s home. The story begins here, in the longhouse, the day before the undead attack: the first skirmish, the warning from the druids, and then the night of 10 Arodus, when the village fell and the group fled with the Candle of Vigil.

A small Ulfar village in the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, and the home of Astrid, Sigurd, Freya, Sif and Alrik. Devotion to the Wolfmother was one of the defining traits of the village, and its people kept the old ways of the north: the longhouse at its heart, the jarl and his warriors, and the druids of the Circle of the Northern Storm in their grove nearby.

On 10 Arodus 4734 AR Mistreach was overrun by an army of undead led by Eaudrik Vallemar, who was after the relic the druids kept in secret: the Candle of Vigil. The village was destroyed and the circle disbanded.

The survivors scattered. Some followed Ivar, the new jarl, back north, where they have since turned to raiding; a few families, led by Elsa and Gunnar, broke away and found refuge in Springsgate.
