The Ageless Promise

Sigurd’s and Ragnar’s father, and one of the pillars of Mistreach.

A big, massive Ulfar in his fifties, like an old tree, with grey hair in a single braid and Wolfmother tattoos climbing his arms up to his neck: stylised wolves, runes of protection, the symbol of the Mother. His eyes are a pale grey, almost transparent. He speaks little, and every sentence is weighed before he says it. His faith is not fanatical: it is deep.

As a young man he travelled to Vigil with Olso, and from there he brought back his sword, a magic weapon from Tian Xia. He fought to defend Mistreach and, after its fall, he stayed with Ivar, pretending to support him while helping the families who fled. In the end he challenged Ivar for the leadership and was killed. He came to Sigurd in a dream, but his soul was taken on its way, and the Wolfmother could do nothing.
