The Ageless Promise

Makoto Otsune

A woman in her forties, lean and precise, who enters a room without a sound and immediately becomes the centre of every gaze. Black hair in a formal bun held by two red lacquered pins, layered dark silk embroidered with plum blossoms, and a perfectly calibrated voice. On stage she is everything; off stage she is polite, measured and selectively impenetrable.

Author of Kono Subarashi Sekai!, the only play truly loved by the Kintargo audience, whose heroes must deliver a relic called the sceptre of the moon to Absalom. She gave Alrik pieces of a song “in waiting”, the last one before the group left the city.
