The Ageless Promise

The one member of the group from Tian Xia who is not Tian.

A young man whose features are perfect, almost too perfect: symmetrical, flawless, without a single mark of age or chance, as if someone had designed that face at a drawing table. It is hard to say what is wrong with it, only that nothing is.

He travels with Raigo Ayuwara and Makoto Otsune, and like them he came to Kintargo from Tian Xia; yet he is not Tian himself, and he never explained where he really comes from. The group learned that the three of them are guarding the Key to the Moon, the sister relic of their own Candle of Vigil. When the two groups met in Kintargo to share what they knew of their missions, Vess noticed the friendship bracelets Samira had given Sigurd, Astrid and Freya, said he was an old travelling companion of hers, and asked to hear how they had met.

The two groups agreed to take different roads: the Tians stayed in Kintargo to wait for the end of winter, while the Ulfar set off north.
