A man who looks about fifty, in an ancient, corroded armour marked by blows that should have killed him. Carvings seem to grow from inside the metal and glow with a cold, bluish light; his footprints fill with shadow. He breathes, he bleeds, his voice is calm and human, and that is the most unsettling thing about him.

Olso and Bjorn told the group that, at Vigil, they sacrificed his company of paladins. Now he leads the undead. He appeared to the group as an illusion on the night Mistreach fell, recognised Freya and demanded the relic; he watched them in Birka through his seagulls, and at Ravenscry he offered to reveal what happened to Astrid’s mother and to free Bjorn’s soul in exchange for the candle.
